Provost Scholarship Asu Requirements – The Leadership Scholarship Program (LSP) recognizes outstanding alumni who have demonstrated excellence in leadership. Twenty-three Arizona high school seniors and two out-of-state high school seniors are selected for the scholarship each year. Established in 1977 to develop exceptional leadership skills among promising scholars, this program has a long history at Arizona State University. Through the scholarship program, students become integral members of the university community.
The LSP award is one of ASU’s institutional scholarships. ASU does not combine institutional scholarships. If you are eligible for a New American University Scholarship (ie President’s, Chancellor’s, Dean’s, Regent’s High Commendation) and selected for the Leadership Scholarship Program, you will receive only the highest-valued scholarship. If you are accepted into the Leadership Fellowship program, participation is mandatory. The LSP award is a $10,000 annual scholarship for resident students, renewable for an additional three years (a total of eight consecutive semesters). The LSP is a $13,000 annual scholarship for non-resident students, renewable for three years (a total of eight consecutive semesters). Scholarship recipients can use it for tuition and fees, housing and other educational expenses.

Before we get into ASU’s financial aid, let’s slow things down and take a quick look at why this is the kind of college it is in the first place.
Arizona State University has been around for a long time. It is a public institution founded in 1885 (before Arizona became a US state). Fast forward to today and ASU is now one of the largest public universities in America.
Home to more than 135,000 students, when you combine the on-campus cohort with those studying online, ASU has 17 colleges and 170 disciplinary institutes and centers for undergraduates and graduate students.
ASU is a place with something for everyone. But it has a serious reputation for excellence. Its staff and alumni include:
Alabama State University
Competing as the Arizona Sun Devils, ASU competes in 26 varsity sports in the NCAA Division I Pac-12 Conference. There are also over 1,000 student clubs and teams to join — you don’t have to be a future NBA star to join them.
With a wide range of academic options, a strong reputation for sports and student life, and a solid reputation, ASU offers incredible opportunities to students from around the world.
If you want to attend Arizona State University (ASU) but need financial support, you’ll be relieved to know that ASU offers a variety of scholarships.
Some of these scholarships are exclusive to certain majors or university departments. Others are based on your high school performance, financial need, or whether you come from a particular community or community.

ASU New American University Scholarships are for outstanding incoming freshmen. There are 4 different awards within the program: President’s Award, Provost’s Award, Dean’s Award and University Award.
The amount you qualify for depends on your residency status and the award you are offered. But overall, this is an inclusive scholarship program that fits most of ASU’s freshman population.
The Harrison Westerfield Scholarship is another award for ASU freshmen. But this scholarship is only for out-of-state students – and to be considered, you must be able to demonstrate your involvement in community service.
You need a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 to qualify for the Harrison Westerfield Scholarship. The total prize is $1,000.

The ASU Next Generation Service Corps (NGSC) is a four-year leadership development program that trains Arizona students of all majors to solve serious societal problems.
As part of the program, ASU provides coverage for all NGSC students for core studies. This means that ASU offers NGSC members variable awards based on the gap that each student must fill after accounting for other scholarships or grants at universities.
But to be eligible for a graduate Dougherty scholarship, you must also receive a scholarship at the undergraduate level. The scholarship award is $2,000.

Colleges With The Best Merit Scholarships
Gifts like grants and scholarships are always ideal because you don’t have to pay them back – most students can’t go to school without taking out loans.
A student loan is a nominal amount you borrow to pay for your education. Now, loans give you money to pay for college, but instead of that cash, you have to pay those funds back with interest.
Each loan has its own interest rates and repayment terms depending on the type of loan and your requirements.
If you’re applying for federal student loans, you’ll need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the universal application form used by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid to determine your eligibility for federal loans and grants.

Arizona accepts personal loans (mostly on a credit basis) from other lenders. If you are looking for a personal loan, remember that the application process is not universal. Each lender will definitely have its own application process, so understand how to apply and what the requirements are.

Many financial aid opportunities offered to ASU students require you to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The federal government uses the FAFSA to determine the amount of U.S. government aid you may receive. However, your state government and ASU will review the information entered on the FAFSA to determine whether you qualify for state financial aid or institutional aid.

That said, keep in mind that many ASU scholarships require separate application forms. This is especially true for current ASU students applying for scholarships.
For more information about filing the FAFSA, including key dates and how to ensure your application is submitted successfully, visit our Learning Center.
